The 5th Annual Night At The Museum (NATM 5) took place this past weekend on the 25-26 May at Bayworld 2018. This two -day event is a proud Friends of Bayworld (FOB) calendar event and was organised in collaboration with the Algoa Caledonian Pipe Band and aims to bring the whole family together by offering a variety of activities.
“I am so proud at how the NATM keeps on succeeding over the years and how it affords the whole family to go out together and enjoy a night out on the town,” said Anelle Bailey a FOB representative and organiser of the event.
The NATM 5 offered the following activities for the people of the Nelson Mandela Bay:
- Penguin Naming Competition
- Dress up corner in the Costume gallery
- Snake Interaction
- Treasure Hunt by torchlight
- Dance performances by the Ray Dance Studio
Thousands of people braved out the cold and rainy Friday evening to go and attend this spectacular event which saw some people dressing up as Historical figures and some adorned in their traditional regalia. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the treasure hunt and the robotic dinosaur exhibition which saw them quite intrigued and entertained. In true Bayworld style, their lovely slithering snakes were brought out to come and interact with the masses. Food as well drinks were sold even though a picnic option was presented which saw folks gathered around the bonfire and connecting over their picnic baskets.
Bailey continued to thank all those that made the event the resounding success it was especially her sponsors who have continued to sponsor the event over the years which is aimed at raising funds for the benefit of Bayworld and all the programmes they have to educate and create awareness about how to preserve & conserve our natural and cultural history.
