Bayworld will be hosting a romantic Valentine’s function on Sunday, 14 February 2010, featuring a special cabaret performance by the popular show host of Strictly Come Dancing and gifted entertainer, Ian von Memerty. At this annual fundraising event, guests will also be treated to a special seal presentation in the Oceanarium, as well as a performance by the up and coming River Road Band and cocktail snacks in the Museum.
The event, which kicks off at 17:30, is held not only in celebration of St Valentine’s Day, but is also one of the largest fundraising events at Bayworld which is in dire need of funding.
Since the relocation of the two dolphins, Domino and Dumisa, to their new home at Ocean Park in Hong Kong, Bayworld has experienced a substantial drop in visitor numbers to the institution which has had a direct impact on its ability to generate sufficient income to sustain its operations and core functions of research and conservation education.
The Bayworld Valentine’s event has always received incredible support from various organizations and members of the public. This year, sponsors include Woolworths, Lindt, JC le Roux, River Road Band, Cadbury and many more.
Tickets are available at R320 per couple and include cocktail bites, champagne and chocolate fountains and an irresistible goody bag for each guest. Bayworld Friends qualify for a discount on presentation of their membership cards.
Booking is essential and can be directed to Alicia Pienaar on 041 584 0650 on or before Friday, 11 February 2010. For more information, please contact Alicia.
